One thing to know.
The Bungalow sits closer to the access road that connects Playa Chiquita to Puerto Viejo town than the other houses on the property — about 30 meters back. The road is mostly quiet: bikes, the occasional motorbike, an afternoon shuttle van or two. After 8pm it falls almost completely silent.
It's the reason the Bungalow is the lodge's most affordable option — and the reason it's the easiest house to walk from. Playa Chiquita restaurants are 5–10 minutes on foot, Puerto Viejo town is a 15-minute bike ride. If you sleep very lightly with the windows open, the Beach House or Garden House sit deeper in the property.

You walk out the Bungalow's private gate, follow the lodge's palm-shaded main path through the gardens, pass the Garden House and the Iguanaverde green-iguana reserve, cut through the seafront strip — and you're on Punta Uva, inside the Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Gandoca-Manzanillo.
